![]() ![]() Once you've taken them all down, turn all the lights in the room green, and activate the TV. Yep, you're going to be fighting the four Ninja Turtles (or rather, their borderlands stand-in). Splinter Group: An early sidequest offered by Patricia Tannis called "Splinter Group" will have you travelling into the sewers to take down a group of mutants – by bringing them pizza. On approach, he'll jump off the cliff into the lava, at which point several dragon-esque creatures will fly overhead, dropping several crates filled with items. You'll see an enemy there known as Geary, who looks suspiciously like Gollum from Lord of the Rings. One Ring to Rule Them All: Go to the northwestern corner of the Eridium Blight. Those of you who've seen the movie Top Gun will have gotten the reference right out the door. He's upset that he got booted out of his flight squad by his buddies, and will contract you to burn their volleyball court in order to get revenge on them. Loggins: While in The Dust, you'll encounter a rather angry fellow named Loggins. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to find this abomination – it spawns randomly, though he has a chance of spawning wherever you encounter trapped chests. Jimmy Jenkins (who appears in game as Jimmy J3KN5) was actually the result of a programming glitch, which turned into an inside joke, which made its way into the final game. Jimmy Jenkins: No, it's not the reference you think it is. Taking him down will net you the Gunnerang (a weapon with a scope that turns into a boomerang on reload). Take the lift down to a place known as The Rakk Cave, where you'll encounter Rakkman. I'm Rakkman: After completing the Cold Shoulder quest (see "Snow White"), go into Laney's vault, and keep following the path through it until you reach a lift. Apparently, he's in a relationship with Lilith (who seems pretty into him, given her comments), and is friends with both Mordecai and Brick. In a Relationship: A few of the monitors around Sanctuary's Crimson Raiders HQ display a rather interesting sight: Roland's Facebook page (or whatever constitutes Facebook in the Borderlands universe). He's out front of a shack, with a claptrap statue next to him. The cheery bandit can be found while you're working on the "Clan Wars" mission chain, during the "Trailer Trashing" segment. After staring for a few moments, Terramorphous will start dancing in the lake.ĭress Up: There are a number of pop culture references in the character creation menu, including Batman, Battletoads, Breaking Bad, Shaun of the Dead, Spaced, and Arrested Development.įinding Fyrestone: If you take to wandering around the Arid Badlands for a while, you're probably going to recognize a few locations from the first Borderlands. Of course, the game is rife with pop culture references, and not just from the citizens.ĭance Number: While you can't really fight Terramorphous until you've passed endgame, you can still catch a glimpse of it. Here's just a few (there's a good chance there might be more which have yet to be discovered).Ĭitizens and Culture: There are a few Easter Eggs to be found around Sanctuary simply by speaking to the good people of the city, including an Arrow to the Knee Reference and homages to both Game of Thrones and Doctor Who. ![]() Aside from "What Does It Mean?" and "Definitely an Italian Plumber," there's a whole stack of additional Easter Eggs in Borderlands 2 for you to track down. ![]()
